When Should a Lash Artist Raise Prices?

You do not need to wait until you are exhausted and frustrated with your prices before reviewing them.

Pricing should be something you look at regularly as your business changes.

Look at the Numbers First

Have your product or operating costs increased? Are your appointments taking more time than your pricing supports? Has your education, service, or client experience improved? Are you consistently reaching your comfortable booking capacity?

These are more useful questions than asking whether another artist recently raised her prices.

Capacity is especially important. There is a limit to how many appointments you can physically perform. If earning more always requires adding another client, eventually there are no more hours available.

Give Clients Clear Notice

When you decide to change pricing, communicate the new amount and when it begins. Clients need clear information, not a long apology.

Price changes are part of operating a business.

The Takeaway

Review pricing before it becomes a problem.

A sustainable price should support your expenses, time, quality of work, and the future of your business.
